Getting Here

Getting to Wilson Island is easy, with a boat transfer from Gladstone to Heron Island and then a speedboat over open water to land barefoot on the beach. 

A daily boat transfer leaves Gladstone for Heron Island at 11am, and helicopter transfers are also available which give a spectacular arial view of The Great Barrier Reef.

Wilson Island is a 45 minute boat ride from Heron Island.

Gladstone to Heron Island by Boat

Once at Heron Island, you will be transferred to Wilson Island on a 45-minute speed boat ride and arrive barefoot on your private island.

Helicopter flights operate between Heron Island and Gladstone daily (excluding Christmas Day), subject to availability. The Helicopter Terminal is located a short 4 minute drive from the Main Gladstone Terminal and all transfers between the Terminals are provided for guests flying to and from Gladstone.

Important travel notes for helicopter transfers:

• If you choose to fly to Heron Island preceeding your transfer to Wilson Island, please ensure your arrival and departure details are advised at time of booking to be met on arrival in the Main Gladstone Terminal (adjacent to the baggage carousel), for your transfer to the Helicopter Terminal.
• Should you be driving to Gladstone Airport, please advise at time of booking and a transfer will be organised for you from the Main Gladstone Terminal to the HelicopterTerminal, 45 minutes prior to your helicopter flight, as car parking is not available at the HelicopterTerminal.
• Should you be arriving to Gladstone Airport via taxi, please ask the Driver to take you directly to the HeliReef Terminal.
• Please note a luggage restriction of 15kg per person applies at all times and we also require each guest's body weight to be advised at time of booking due to strict weight limitations on each flight.
