Wilson Island, Your Castaway
A divine sweep of white sands that is home to turtles and birds, Wilson is both part of the Great Barrier Reef, and surrounded by it. Its pristine waters are host to an unimaginable variety of marine life, including colourful coral and fish, with some of the best snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, just off the beach. Wilson Island is a special place because of its sheer simplicity. Become shipwrecked in style, Wilson is about enjoying the simple pleasures of island life. Share an isolated island with just a few others and enjoy the rare experience of feeling like you are a million miles from the ‘real’ world.
There is a myriad of Great Barrier Reef hotels and resorts, but none like Wilson Island. Wilson Island offers comfortable, designer-inspired tent accommodation, with reef and ocean views. The island provides a maximum of just 12 guests with access to the magnificent reef and beach environments, including rare turtle and bird breeding grounds. Wilson is the perfect size for you to ‘rent your own island’ for a weekend or longer. Guests can also relax at The Longhouse, a spacious, open-sided central complex with dining and lounge facilities, where you can unwind over a drink at the end of the day.
Wilson Island is located just north of the Tropic of Capricorn, approximately 72 kilometres north east off the coast of Gladstone and 15 kilometres from nearby Heron Island. Gladstone Airport is accessible from all major Australian airports.
