With no phones or television, the soundtrack for your getaway is the lapping of ocean waves, the rustle of the leaves in the breeze and the melody of neighbouring birds. Days are spent relaxing in a hammock, lounging on the beach, exploring the island and snorkelling with the abundant marine life that call Wilson Island home.
Wilson Island is a Marine National Park, located within the Southern Great Barrier Reef. As a Marine National Park, it is a ‘no touch, no take’ area and extractive activities, such as fishing or collecting, are not allowed without a permit. Guests come to Wilson Island to experience the unspoiled natural environment, the incredible marine life and the amazing native flora and fauna, which, thanks to these restrictions, is in abundance.
Wilson Island Resort is closed every year from 1 February to 1 April. This is to allow the resident marine bird & turtle population the peace and quiet they need to nest.
