Wilson Island does have limitations due to its unique location and layout.
Regretfully Wilson Island is not wheelchair resort due to:
On arrival guests will arrive on a small boat connecting via Heron Island. To access the boat - boarding is
across sand and the beach. On arrival at Wilson Island guests are met by the resort team for a beach arrival.
To maintain the natural beauty and to cause minimal disruption the unique environment there are no
concreate or flat footpaths. To walk between the beach, guest rooms there are sand and crushed shells on
the pathway.
To maintain the natural beauty of the water and to avoid disruption to any coral or marine life, Wilson Island
does not have a marina or pontoon. A specific boat operates around the tides where guests board and
disembark the boat via stairs onto the beach.

As the guest rooms are reef safari tents these are elevated with entry steps to the tents.
Service Animals are welcome to travel to the island. Ensuring that guests travelling with the service animal have the necessary documentation to present to local authorities upon request. Due to the location of the island being in the
Great Barrier Reef there are restrictions on pets and animals visiting the island and park. Guest needs to be mindful that the island is home to a very large bird population, marine life such as turtles resting on the beach.
Due to the remote location and lack of medical facilities on island, Wilson Island has a strict policy regarding allergies.
Limited dietary requirements can be accommodated are asked to make contact if they do have allergies to avoid any disappointment of reservations being refused or cancelled. This policy is necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our guests at what is a remote location.
