Location

Wilson Island is a natural coral cay covering just 5.24 acres and is both part of the Great Barrier Reef and surrounded by it.

Located just north of the Tropic of Capricorn, Wilson Island is approximately 80 km northeast off the coast of Gladstone and 15 km from nearby Heron Island. Wilson Island is only accessible via Heron Island. The distance to Gladstone is 534 km north of Brisbane and 1,183 km south of Cairns. Regular flights to Gladstone are available via Brisbane with either Qantas or Virgin Australia.

As you can imagine, once you arrive, you won’t find any modern distractions like phones and TVs. What you will find is the opportunity to disconnect from the modern world, to relax and rejuvenate and truly become a guest of nature.

Wilson Island is closed from 1 February to 1 April for bird breeding season by Queensland National Parks.
